The Burger Connection
Thorin N. Tatge
(To “The Rainbow Connection” by Kenny Ascher and Paul Williams)
Why are there so many puns about burgers
and what you serve on the side?
Burgers are classic but also creative
Burgers have nothing to hide
Lots of folks think that you can't just serve burgers
I know they're wrong; wait and see
Someday we'll find it—the burger connection
The broilers, the grillers, and me
When your heart's heavy, a song can refresh it
Linda is great that way
And because we have children, we don't need employees
If only they'd do what I say!
I know my customers yearn for me somewhere
They just have to walk by and see
Someday they'll find it—the burger connection
The bar joes, the foodies, and me
(When they bite into that beef
They'll probably think that it's magic)
Have you been half drunk, and have you heard voices?
I've heard things saying my name.
Things in the kitchen just want to be useful
I'll put them over the flame!
Cooking utensils are focused, yet gentle
They're better than people that way
Someday we'll find it—the burger connection
If we “Don't Get Carrot Away!”
(comes with fresh carrots and greens—
