Ode to Luna
From The Night of Two Moons,
a play performed on EquestriaMUCK on August 20th–21st, 2012.
Luna, Luna, Luuuna, Luuuna!
Pinpoint in the firmament! (Pinpoint in the void!)
Child of revolution, fount of elocution
Shade of tenebrosity, crux of curiosity
Luna, Luna!
So! How the beauty of her night infiltrates!
Blots out the gleam at the back of my eye
Leaves me no steam, replaced by a dream
No tears to cry, only sleep, sleep...
Woe! How the marvel of her stars makes me reel!
Pitches me up into endless ascent
No way to land, no wings to command
Time to repent in the deep, deep...
Luna, Luna, Luuuna, Luuuna!
Pinpoint in the firmament! (Pinpoint in the void!)
Queen of arbitration, knight of constellation
Champion of knowing, magus everflowing
Luna, Luna!
So! How the brilliance of her moon strikes the soul!
Woe to the foal who would halve the whole!
Heavenly face, perpetual grace
No finer role, or so stark, stark...
Woe! Would I ever know perfection so fine!
Round as a pony before being born
Light in the black, no contrast thee lack
Miniature morn in the dark, dark...
Luna, Luna, Luuuna, Luuuna!
Pinpoint in the firmament! (Pinpoint in the void!)
Luna, Luna, Luuuna, Luuuna!
From chaos we have come, to chaos we are sent
But she has pierced the firmament.
Pure emptiness she has destroyed! (Pinpoint in the void!)
So is her night sky employed! (Pinpoint in the void!)
So through her works we simple beings sit here overjoyed.
(Pinpoint
in the void!)
