Bashak's Rain Song
As you walk through the air, you don't feel nothing there;
Though it's floating, flying, flowing all around you, you don't care.
But the earth must talk to the sky, and the route that it goes by,
Is the shower spring of droplets that you feel in your hair!
And the drizzle drizzlin' down, is the sky's planting ground --
And the earth is plumping up so as to be all nice and round --
All the grass is gonna wave, and the clouds will all reply --
Just a friendly sign of life down from the sky.
Well, a bird loves to swim, but don't you tell that to him,
For the sky is like an ocean when the stormy air grows dim,
And a bird with spirit sings to a cloud with a pair of wings,
For it's still a swim no matter if the water's thick or thin.
And the drizzle drizzlin' down, is the sky's planting ground --
And the earth is plumping up so as to be all nice and round --
All the grass is gonna wave, and the clouds will all reply --
Just a friendly sign of life down from the sky.
When the world starts to flood, all the earth'll turn to mud,
And the air is filled with moisture like a body filled with blood;
Like the colors that nature blends; like a nuzzle (hug) between two friends;
Like the pollen on the wind that brings the lifetouch to the bud!
And the drizzle drizzlin' down, is the sky's planting ground --
And the earth is plumping up so as to be all nice and round --
All the grass is gonna wave, and the clouds will all reply --
Just a friendly sign of life down from the sky.
Just a friendly sign of life down
from the sky.
