To “The First Noel”
First ever Noel, the
Angels did say
Was dedicated to certain poor shepherds in fields
as they lay
In fields as they lay; lay keeping their sheep
On a
cold winter's night that was really deep—No!!
Elno, Elno, Elno,
Elborn!
Is the King of Israel—They!
Looked in the sky and
they saw there a star
And the star shone in the East which was
beyond them far
What’s more, to the earth it gave great
light
Both in the day and in the night—No!!
Elno, Elno, Elno,
Elborn!
Is the King of Israel—And!
By the shiny light of
that self-same star
Three Wise men they came from some country
far
For to seek for a King was their only intent
And to follow
the star by accident—No!!
Elno, Elno, Elno, Elborn!
Is the
King of Israel—This!
Star drew nigh to the naughty
northwest
And it was o'er Bethlehem that it took its rest
It
was there, you see, that it did both pause and stay
Which happened
to be right o'er the place where Jesus lay—No!!
Elno, Elno,
Elno, Elborn!
Is the King of Israel—Then!
Entered in then
those Wise men three
Full reverently upon their collective
knee
And offered they them there in His holy presence
All their
gold and their myrrh and their frankincense—No!!
Elno, Elno,
Elno, Elborn!
Is the King of Israel—Then!
Let us all with
some gladly accord
Sing some praises originally intended for our
heav’nly Lord
For our Lord who hath made both Heaven and earth
out of nought
And who also with his own blood has mankind
bought—No!!
Elno, Elno, Elno, Elborn!
Is the King of
Israel—The!
