Concerning Our King
Thorin N. Tatge
To "The King (The Wren)" - Traditional
Much peace, love and grace
Be here in this place;
By your leave, we shall sing
Concerning our king.
We have traveled many miles
Over hedges and stiles
In order to bring
You this nifty song about our king.
Our King is well-dressed.
He has a nice vest.
He wears a bright crown
And a very very manly gown.
Our king is regal
His existence is quite literal.
He looks like most handsome men
He is not a symbolic wren.
Our king is quite bold.
His bedspread is made of gold!
And the sheets with which his bed is laid
Are also from gold made.
Our king is very wise
But if an enemy should arise
He will lead us into war
For to show said enemy what for.
We have powder and shot
Shot is not a thing we have forgot!
And without a cannonball
A cannon's not much good at all.
We have come many a mile
To relate all this with style.
There is no denying
The
spiffiness of our king.
