A Celebration of Animals: Mythological Bonus Verses!
Thorin N. Tatge
I am a toxic thing,
Wretched and lugubrious,
Studded with ceratoid spikes of bone!
I have the fetid touch:
I turn everything to mush!
You’d better run and hide
Or you’ll wind up petrified!
Mine is a world of stone!
I am a burning thing,
Sharp and keen and colorful
Flying the world with feathers worn;
If I need a place to crash—
I’ll just burn myself to ash
Lifespan millenial,
Legacy perennial—
Mine is a world reborn!
I am a swarming thing
Giant and reptilian,
Striking my foes in a deadly whirl!
But, I’m confused about
Where to go when eating out:
I never can agree
Because there are nine of me!
Mine is a world in plural!
I am a hopping thing,
Chased by demons, snakes and balls;
Twenty-eight cubic feet is my range!
Green balls allay my risks;
Freedom comes on swirling discs;
I shall forever roam
‘Til the world is monochrome;
Mine is a world of change!
